The Analogy of the Tarot & Astrology

Apr 3, 2023 | Brees questions answers

Tarot card and astrology is the system where an analysis of the tarot cards is related to reading a horoscope chart/astrology chart.
A proficient analysis is needed when laying out the tarot cards and synchronizing the tarot reading with astrology, or horoscope, (both have the same meaning) will be able to tell you what your past held, where you are now,  as well as your future. The possibilities. The tarot deck in its connection with astrology shows us what each card is associated with, for example, the seasons, and emotions, and how we may deal with the energy.
Tarot cards are used for divination, regularly referred to as fortune-telling. Many psychologists have actually used them also, feeling that the cards usually will tempt their clients to open up with their feelings.
I've been asked in a few emails regarding my thoughts on how the Tarot & Astrology intertwine! Below is my answer! Soon I will provide videos answering questions I receive the most emails on!

Spiritual Design Astrology by Bree

The subconscious mind plays a great part in this. As an example, let's say you recognize that your career is not going as planned and in turn, you bury that thought deep into your subconscious mind. Obtaining a tarot card reading you picked the death card, do not be alarmed as the death card doesn't mean an actual death where someone leaves us, although it can, but nine times out of ten this card is representing a transition in one's life that needs to be dealt with instead such as one's career. The tarot reading can bring what you've tried to bury deep down into the light so you are able to better deal with it. Adding that the death card tells me the 8th house in astrology is involved, I'd related this to Scorpio, as well as all eight house matters, & perhaps you knew you were in a career that its time has passed,  and a  new career choice needs to come in, death & rebirth. The dying of the old career, & the possibilities of a new career choice. Depending on what other tarot cards you drew and in what position they fell, I'd be able to help you map out the rest of your journey.

The tarot card deck contains 78 cards    Tarot

The Major Arcana is made up of 22 cards and it will tell of life-changing events same as when a malefic planet in astrology is conjunct with one of the angular cardinal cusp, houses, like Saturn, Pluto, Uranus, or Neptune, conjunct the cusp of the first, fourth, seventh, or tenth house, life-changing events coming in.  The Minor Arcana is separated into 4 suits. Each of these cards represents a particular component of the Planet as well as connected with certain astrological signs.

The Minor Arcana cards add the lesser secrets to the Major Arcana cards. The Major Arcana tells us the greater secrets, they give us the life-changing occurrences in our lives like switching up careers, to buying your first home, and the birth of a child. Sometimes they will also show us that what is coming in will be beyond one's control, which tells me Uranus is involved!

The Minor Arcana cards give additional support to the Major Arcana cards but relate to our everyday lives, such as how we handle situations like our activities and our everyday events.
Minor Arcana cards represent 4 suits. Each suit tells us an area of our lives, we have the physical, intellectual, spiritual, and emotional.
Using both the Minor and Major Tarot cards together gives us the whole picture of one's state of mind, where we once were, where we find ourselves now, and where we are heading, & will give us the timing as well!
The Major Arcana you will find relates to the signs and planets in astrology. As well as relates to people such as our guides for one, teachers, and mentors.
Circling back to the Minor Arcana, they are divided into 4 separate suits. We have cups, Wands, Swords, and Pentacles. As we know there are many tarot decks to choose from so depending on your choice of which to use all the suits I've stated above will have the same meaning. Rather they are called Staffs, Coins, etc ~ all still have the same meaning. I myself favor the Rider -Waite Tarot
In a tarot reading when I see Pentacles, I will relate that to something physical, material
Wands, I see a more spiritual realm, motivating force, inspiration.
Swords, I relate to energy, a force, a battle
Cups, I see sentiments of emotions, secrets holding emotions
In a Tarot, Astrology readings  (readings.... consultations, I will use that term interchangeably) we also need to include the elements which are fire, earth, air, and water.
In astrology, the fire signs are Leo, Aries, and Sagittarius and are related to Wands when doing a tarot reading
Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces in astrology will relate to the tarot cards the Suit of Cups.
the air signs, Gemini, Libra, & Aquarius will relate to the suit of swords.
The earthy signs in astrology Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn, relate to the suit of Pentacles, practical, down-to-earth, money,

Cardinal signs Aries, (Wands) will also tell the season or timing, we know Aries is the timing of spring, and new beginnings, in the tarot Aries is related to The Emperor
Cancer (Cups) tells us summer and is related to our emotions, and our sorrows in the tarot Cancer is related to The Chariot
Libra (Swords) will relate to the season of fall,  and the suit of swords, action, energy, and battles we may be facing, in the tarot Libra is related to Justice
Capricorn (Pentacles) shows us wintertime, in the tarot, Capricorn relates to The Devil, not because Capricorns are the devil (for the love of God I am a sun sign Capi) but because we Capi's know how to make a first impression and we also have the gift knowing how to rise about our opposition. (Please remember it takes so much more than a simple sun sign to describe an individual's personality and how they approach life, it takes the horoscope natal chart as a whole, not one sign!)
The Empress using the tarot represents the element of earth & Venus which rules the 2nd, & 7th  house in astrology (Taurse rules the 2nd house, Libra rules the 7th, but Venus rules Taurse, & Libra)

There is so much more that ties the Tarot with Astrology that I could write, with that, said, if you'd like a Tarot consult with Bree,  please see Bree's  Services/rates
